Along with the new site launch, we’ve also shipped a Postman collection to make your life easier as a Moltin user, letting you test out the API in no time. It includes the majority of the requests from our docs i.e. Create, Read, Update, Delete on each endpoint.

For those of you who are already up and running with Moltin, this overall collection should be super useful as a reference.

But if you’re new to Moltin, it might be hard to know where to start with that collection. Some requests rely on values created by other requests, so they need to be done in order. For example, creating a Product means that you need a Tax Band created beforehand etc.

To solve that, today, we’re introducing two individual quick start collections with guides, that will have you up and running in minutes!

The new collections come bundled with a Postman environment, where you can place your credentials, and any values that are reused throughout the tutorial - it enables you to work quickly with a single product, category etc. Don’t worry if this doesn’t make sense just now, you’ll see it in action in a moment.

If you haven’t already, be sure to download the Postman desktop client from here. Once it’s finished installing, open it up.

Next, run this button to import the correct collection.

Run in Postman

Once it’s imported, on the left-hand Postman menu, switch from History to Collections. Now, open the first Quickstart guide below!

Quickstart #1 - Tax, Category, Product

Quickstart #2 - Shipping, Cart, Checkout, Order
